silicone on windows
| I'm having a hard time with installers getting silicone everywhere on newly constructed home windows. I can razor some off, then have tried wd-40 and isopropyl alcohol to remove the residue, but its still time consuming and tedious. Has anyone figured out a better way? |

Helen,
I would suggest a new razor blade and a white Scotch pad.
I've heard "White Gas" that's used for camping stoves works pretty good, BUT be very careful with letting it run down on the I.G. seals and it is a fire hazard.
The best way to deal with this is to have the glazer come back and take it off. If they have to take it off, they will be neater the next time.
Good luck,

| I have had some success w/ bronze wool and talcum powder. I would however have the glazers remove it if it was a ridiculous amount. I've seen handprints on windows that were made up of silicone. It defies logic. |
